    SLAY ENERGY VAMPIRES!

This site exists in order to help homeowners (and renters) like you lower your electricity and water consumption, saving you money and reducing your environmental impact.  The Blog covers my personal experiments to make my Tempe home more efficient, as well as links to articles about residential energy efficiency.  The Links page is a repository of some of my favorite efficiency resources.

My Personal Energy Diet includes a list of many steps I have taken or would like to take to reduce my household electricity and water use.

My family has cut our electricity use in half and our water use by four-fifths since our peak year in 2000!

I encourage all home owners to have a professional Energy Audit conducted on their home.  These comprehensive audits, when done right, will provide you with a list of improvements that would certainly make your home far more energy and water efficient.  If such an audit is out of your price range, I am available in the Phoenix area for a household energy efficiency consultation, for a modest and negotiable fee.  I am unable to perform sophisticated "blower door" tests, or thermal imaging, but I can make suggestions and share my knowledge with anyone who is beginning the process of increasing the efficiency of their home.  Email and telephone conversations are encouraged and free of charge.
